Story Idea: The Talent Show

I spent the last several weeks sketching out my story idea for Monkey Zombie and it didn’t come together quite as I wanted it to, but when I feel better about where it’s going I will post some sample chapters.

I also developed a new story idea, and one that is a little less supernatural: The Talent Show. In this tale, a student from Maine is delighted when he gets the chance to take part in the final of a local talent show held at the community center. However, his chances are scuppered when he finds out his arch rival is also going to compete. It turns our the student has been dead all along and performs as a zombie. Hah! See, I got you. Of course it was going to be a zombie story.

I’m thinking of naming my main character with an unusual name. What do you think of the following options?

  • Argus Oster
  • Diego Clifford
  • Dylan Storch
  • Evan Austin
  • Reuben Huckabee
  • Jimmy Herror
  • Devlin Serrano

I also need to come up with a name for the town. It needs to have a “Maine Coast” sort of feel. What about one of these?

  • Matlock
  • Farnworth
  • Berkhamsted
  • Scrabster
  • Strongfair
  • Nearon
  • Bracklewhyte
  • Garmsby
  • Dumbarton
  • Bellechulish

Sarah Graves, a conjurer of words and a maestro of pixels, resides at the intersection of literature and virtual realms. With a pen as her wand and a keyboard as her shield, she crafts tales that traverse the realms of imagination, much like the adventures she embarks upon in the digital landscapes of video games. In her stories, characters come alive, and worlds unfurl with a grace akin to the grandeur of Minecraft's blocky expanses. With each narrative, she invites readers to journey alongside her, exploring the uncharted territories of the human spirit and the boundless realms of gaming. For Sarah Graves, storytelling is not merely a craft; it is a portal to endless possibilities, where the realms of words and pixels collide in a symphony of creativity.
