Story Idea: Monkey Zombie

Here’s my latest, kind of rambling, story idea. It’s about monkeys and zombies. Kind of like Planet of the Apes meets the Zombie genre from the past few years. I think it’s a winner. The screenplay will definitely end up with a Best Picture nod for the Oscars.

In a world where monkeys have infiltrated the government, one pharmacist has no choice but to protect mankind using an ancient scroll. It turns out that the pharmacist is a zombie.

I think this story would follow the arc of an allegorical tragedy. One of the main characters, perhaps the pharmacist’s love interest, would be a teacher. The story would open at a party where both are in attendance. In the end, the teacher and the pharmacist would infiltrate the monkey-controlled government using the power of the ancient scroll that they discovered.

That’s when the pharmacist reveals he is a zombie and all Hell breaks loose.

I was sketching out some character names for the teacher this weekend. I think I will go with one of the following choices:

  • Aimee Newton
  • Annette Guerra
  • Beth Lorie Dickson
  • Blanca Lillian Reye
  • Elsa Dyer
  • Emily Hancock
  • Emma Sharp

I haven’t settled on a name for the zombie pharmacist, but I see him in my mind’s eye as a definite Phil. That’s all I’ve got for now.

Sarah Graves, a conjurer of words and a maestro of pixels, resides at the intersection of literature and virtual realms. With a pen as her wand and a keyboard as her shield, she crafts tales that traverse the realms of imagination, much like the adventures she embarks upon in the digital landscapes of video games. In her stories, characters come alive, and worlds unfurl with a grace akin to the grandeur of Minecraft's blocky expanses. With each narrative, she invites readers to journey alongside her, exploring the uncharted territories of the human spirit and the boundless realms of gaming. For Sarah Graves, storytelling is not merely a craft; it is a portal to endless possibilities, where the realms of words and pixels collide in a symphony of creativity.
